About Ubuntu Centre (UPSS)
Establishing Ubuntu Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies (UPSS) as a Non-profit organization
that works to strengthen principles of research on peacebuilding and social justice. Thus, UPSS is
committed to engage and motivate the youth interventions in peacebuilding, conflict resolutions
and development.
Ubuntu centre can be an impactful way to foster research, education, and community engagement
on issues related to homegrown peacebuilding and conflict resolutions. We consider peace and
development as two sides of the same coin; with peace being a precondition for societal
development and progress, including economic, political, and human dimensions, which in turn is
crucial for bringing about durable peace and stability. The Centres overall objective goes beyond
the analysis of how to break the conflict trap and includes an investigation of how the peacedevelopment nexus can be promoted. Also focuses on national questions of building new Sudan
that respecting human rights and peaceful transformation of power.

OUR VISION
UPSS centre believes in where individuals and communities resolve conflicts peacefully and foster sustainable development for a better life for all. Building a democratic state and well-Building a democratic state and well-informed nation collectively, thus towards a stable, prosperous and peaceful Sudan, characterized by respect for the rule of law, sustainable and equitable development, political empowerment to disadvantaged people, participatory citizenry and accountability.

To advance and promote peacebuilding through education, research and advocacy. Furthermore, through applied policy research with the purpose of adding balance, objectivity and critical thinking. Nurturing a strategic thinking and well-informed progressive among communities and in particular youth leaderships skills.

KEY FOCUS AREAS
Ubuntu centre includes conducting research, network and providing training and implementing
practical projects aimed at promoting peacebuilding and reconciliation among refugees youth of
Sudan. The overall objective of this centre is to advance our understanding of development and
peacebuilding discourses through policy-relevant research and inclusive dialogue.
Ubuntu centre takes a leadership role in engaging and networking with various actors and diverse
views in Sudan and beyond, with particular interest in the cross-cutting issues of peace, human
rights with different stakeholders.
